
Soya chaap is made up of Soya chunks. They looked like some non-veg food but are completely vegetarian and healthy also.
Soya chaap can be served as a main course in the form of soya chaap gravy, and also as starters and appetizers in various forms. I am also sharing some veg chaap starters recipe which is “Tandoori chaap tikka” which gives a tandoori flavour to it.
INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING TANDOORI CHAAP TIKKA:-
- Curd (½ cup)
- Gram flour (2 tbsp)
- Salt (as per taste)
- Red chilli powder (½ tbsp)
- Coriander powder (1 tbsp)
- Turmeric powder (½ tbsp)
- Black pepper (¼ tbsp)
- Garam masala (½ tbsp)
- Oil (2 tbsp)
- Onions (½ cup)
- Capsicum (½ cup)
- Soya chaap (100 gms)

METHOD FOR MAKING CHILLI CHAAP TIKKA:-
- In a mixing bowl add ½ cup curd and 2 tbsp gram flour,
- Now add the spices: salt as per taste, ½ tbsp red chilli powder, 1 tbsp coriander powder, ½ tbsp turmeric powder, ¼ tbsp black pepper, ½ tbsp garam masala and 1 pinch of red food color (optional),
- Mix all of them together and make marination,
- Add 1 tbsp of ginger, garlic and green chilli paste, 100 gms of chaap, ½ cup onion petals, ½ cup of squared capsicum, 2 tbsp oil and mix well,
- Cover the marinated chaap and let it rest for about 30 mins,
- After 30 mins give it a quick mix,
- Take a skewer,
- And insert the marinated chaap and vegetables in the skewer,
- Roast them till it forms a crispy layer over it,
- Sprinkle some chaat masala and add 2 tbsp lemon juice and the tandoori chaap tikka is ready to be served.
NOTES:-
- The curd that you use should be fresh.
- For tandoor roasting you can tandoor the chaap, microwave it, directly roast on the gas flame, or fry it in a pan.
