Watermelon Cake Bites

Watermelon Cake Bites are the cakes bite-sized pieces like a brownie which gives a sweet look of watermelon. This is an easy to make recipe which can be made using very few ingredients. If we talk about the appearance then this dessert looks so beautiful, and the taste is just similar to vanilla sponge cake. You can recreate this recipe by giving it a different look or adding some more different flavors.

INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING WATERMELON CAKE BITES:-

  • Oil/Butter (3/4 cup)
  • Powdered sugar (3/4 cup)
  • All-purpose flour (1.5 cups)
  • Baking powder (1/2 tbsp)
  • Baking Soda (1/4 tbsp)
  • Salt (1 pinch)
  • Vanilla Essence (1 tbsp)
  • Milk (as needed)
  • Green food color (3 pinches)
  • Red food color (1 pinch)
  • Oil (as needed)
  • Chocolate syrup (as needed)

METHOD FOR MAKING WATERMELON CAKE BITES:-

  • In a mixing bowl add 3/4 cup Oil/Butter, 3/4 cup powdered sugar and whisk it till it becomes smooth,
  • Place a sieve on the bowl,
  • Add 1.5 cups all-purpose flour, 1/2 tbsp Baking powder, 1/4 tbsp Baking soda, 1 pinch salt and sift all of them,
  • Combine all these raw ingredients with the oil mixture and add 1 tbsp Vanilla essence,
  • Add milk gradually to adjust the consistency of the batter,
  • Divide the cake batter into three portions and reserve some of it for later use,
  • Add 1 pinch of green food color, 2 pinches of green food color, 1 pinch of red food color in the divided batters respectively,
  • Mix them all, now the batters should be of light green color, dark green color, and red color,
  • Take a mold and greece it well with some oil,
  • Cover the mold with the aluminum foil or butter paper and apply some more oil over it,
  • Spread the vertical and horizontal layers of dark green and light green batter randomly,
  • Make a thin layer of white batter over it, which we reserved earlier,
  • Now the final layer of red batter,
  • Bake it for 25 minutes in a pan on medium flame,
  • After 25 minutes insert a stick in it to check, if the stick comes out clean then it is well baked,
  • Let the cake cool down on room temperature,
  • Demold it,
  • For the seeds of watermelon apply dots of chocolate syrup using a cone,
  • Cut them in bite-sized pieces,
  • And the “WATERMELON CAKE BITES” are ready to be served.

NOTES:-

  • The consistency of cake batter should not be runny, it should have a slightly thick consistency.
  • Cover the mold with aluminum foil so that the cake can be demolded easily.
  • For baking in a pan, pre-heat some salt for 10 minutes, place a wire stand on it and place your mold on it.
  • You can also use choco chips for the seeds of watermelon.
